Tau Beta Pi - Bent Monument
Before 1957, each chapter made its own pattern for a metal Bent, at considerable expense. If your chapter is interested in casting your own Bent, please
. Currently, TBP Headquarters owns a wood pattern for a 4-foot-high solid Bent, a gift from the dean of engineering at Purdue University. Our vendor offers a four-foot unpolished Bent and recently started offering an 18" unpolished and 18" polished Bent. The chapter is responsible for the base on which these Bents are mounted.
For a diagram of the measurements of a 4-foot Bent Monument, click here. This document refers to the bent as being constructed out of red brass (85% Cu, 5% Pb, 5% Sn, 5% Zn), however they are now constructed from everdur (95% Cu, 4% Si, 1% Mn).
